What is a KVM root server?
A fully virtualized server with its own guest kernel and full root access – unlike a container-based vServer, it runs your own, independent operating system.
What is the difference between a Power Rootserver and a Virtual Dedicated Server?
The Power Rootserver is a regular KVM: you share the vCores with other servers on the same host system - in return you get a lot of clock speed for your money. On the Virtual Dedicated Server (VDS), cores and memory are reserved for you and never overbooked. The performance is therefore always available, regardless of what the other servers on the host are doing.
When is the VDS surcharge worth it?
Whenever your application needs consistent response times: production web apps, databases, game servers with stable tick rates or build runners with predictable run times. For projects that tolerate short load spikes, the Power Rootserver is the cheaper choice.
Can I freely choose cores, RAM, storage and traffic?
Yes. In the configurator you put together cores, memory, NVMe storage and traffic yourself – the price updates live as you adjust your selection.
Which operating systems can I install?
Several current versions of Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, CentOS and Windows Server are available directly when ordering.
Is DDoS protection included?
Yes. Every KVM root server is protected against DDoS attacks at no extra cost.
Can I reinstall or change my operating system later?
Yes, you can reinstall your operating system at any time from your customer area.
